Volunteer of the Month

The Los Angeles County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, wishes to thank and congratulate Vicky Figueroa as our Volunteer of the Month. 

Vicky began her involvement with Susan G. Komen when she registered for her first Race for the Cure® in 2000.  She has been an active fundraiser ever since, and as a volunteer, has served on almost all the Committees and initiatives at Komen.  She has been a member of the Race for the Cure® Planning Committee for over seven years, leading Komen Place, Logistics, Expo, I Am The Cure, Food, Photography, and Education. Vicky has been a member of the Speaker's Bureau and assisted Komen with our Major League Baseball/Mother's Day activities in partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Vicky is also active on the Public Policy Committee, Volunteer Committee, the newly formed Young Women’s Advisory Council, and as our current Community Outreach Chair, is involved in all outreach and mission based activities, including Worship in Pink, I Am The Cure and Komen on the Go.  All of us are awed and inspired by Vicky's service and dedication, and hope you will join us in congratulating her on becoming our Volunteer of the Month.
