It is a race against time:
- To find a cure, with the lives of our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends hanging in the balance. Each year 1.1 million women worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 410,000 die from the disease. Imagine being able to stop the breast cancer disease and its tragic consequences.
- To provide services right here in Los Angeles County. With the state funding for the Cancer Detection program, Every Woman Counts drastically cut, more women will need Komen to fill the gap. Delays in diagnosis and treatment will translate into more late-stage diagnosis and more lives lost.
It may be your donation that pushes us past a major turning point in discovering and delivering the cures. It may be your donation that will provide the mammogram that will detect cancer early.
At Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, we make every penny count. In fact, 85 cents of every dollar spent goes toward our treating and curing breast cancer.
