Pasadena Fire Department Goes Pink
The Pasadena Fire Department will wear pink shirts with the Firemen's Union logo on the front and the Pasadena Fire Department writing on the back from October 25th through October 30th, culminating in the UCLA game at the Rose Bowl on the 30th. ALthough the Fire Department is required to wear their uniforms the day of the UCLA game, they are going to wear the shirts under and leave the top button undone so there is a pink collar showing to remind everyone about Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The shirts are provided by American Apparel, and each shirt sold will be accompanied by a coupon to American Apparel. The shirts will be sold out at Huntington Memorial, as well as off the 8 engines, wherever they are. The Engineer always stays with the engine when out of the firehouse, and will sell shirts and accept donations. The shirts sell for $20.
All proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
